Biodiesel purification systems bespoke continuous ‘Duplex’ flow systems

The MWU-XL range is designed for producers with higher volume production requirements. This is a continuous “duplex” system, whereby a set number of wash towers are active, while the other set of wash towers are discharged.

Once the initial bank of wash towers is fully charged, the flow is diverted to activate the second bank of wash towers, thereby eliminating production downtime ensuring no interruption to production and significantly reducing purification times.

These systems can be designed, sized and built to suit your production capability and facility layout. The wash tower reactivation process has been greatly simplified too. A vacuum system is used to remove the spent MAGNESOL™ from the inactive towers.

Main design feature
Capacity
With each of the wash towers capable of removing 4-5kg of MAGNESOL™, larger volumes can now be purified in a single wash. Banks of wash towers are configured in parallel to allow for continuous flow throughput.

Speed
Following the agitation (mixing) process, whereby MAGNESOL™ is introduced and thoroughly mixed into the raw methyl esters, the wash unit will require ± 20 minutes to remove excess MAGNESOL™. Once visual clarity of the biodiesel is achieved, in-house quality control checks are then performed to ensure effective soap removal and pH reduction to neutral. Increased pump flow rates on request.

Safety
The structural integrity of the individual components is of the highest quality. Wherever possible, solid pipe work with high-pressure compression fittings are incorporated into the plumbing arrangement. Air-driven pump operation confirms to ATEX standards. Safety shut-off switches are fitted as standard.

Change over indication
Pressure indication will provide adequate time to redirect the flow path to the second bank of wash towers. If the flow path is not redirected for any reason, the system will simply switch itself off when the safety switch is automatically activated.

Ease of use
Reactivation of the wash cells within the wash towers is a simple process using the new vacuum system which empties the cells and discharges the spent MAGNESOL™.

Low running costs
With the individual wash towers performing the bulk removal of MAGNESOL™, cells can be discharged using vacuum suction quickly and effectively. This would then allow for extended re-use of the filtration cells, thereby ensuring running costs stay at an absolute minimum.

Fuel quality
MAGNESOL™ has an unrivalled ability to remove all soaps and production residues. In addition, MAGNESOL™ is the only dry wash purification method on the market that publish all performance data, which is why it is the international market leader in biodiesel purification. Filtertechnik systems enhance and intensify the purification dry wash purification process. MAGNESOL™ D-SOL™ is designed as a fuel purification system. Many competitor products are either adapted water purification systems or imitators with inferior absorbency, particle distribution and soap removal capability.

MagVac 1000

The MagVac 1000 Suck and Dump Industrial system facilitates simple and efficient discharge of spent MAGNESOL™ from the wash towers. Each unit features an integral discharge chute to empty the contents directly into a skip.
They are available in mobile or static forms, with flat or coned bases and are specifically designed to allow for the transfer of solids/liquids.
MAGNESOL™ discharge from the wash cells. Residual biodiesel is drained off and returned to wash tank to ensure zero wastage.
